Glad to see you here in this community! Lovely photo and well spotted! Very well-camouflaged bird. Are these in Europe? Never seen one here in Germany.
Thank you. It is said these birds breed throughout Europe. They do like a certain environment, rivers and lakes with steep banks. Here in the Netherlands we have man made concrete walls with holes for nesting. At the start of the season new sand is deposited for them to use building new nests.
