The obvious is Endgame when Iron Man had the stones.

The next is The Last Dragon, when Leeroy had the Golden Glow.

I feel like it’s a trope of the 1980s on, but I can’t remember additional examples.

And I definitely don’t remember the earlier examples.

What shows had that oh so satisfying “oh really? Do you now?” Twist at the end of the story.

Stargate SG1 where humanity gets the Asgardians knowledge.

Shang Chi gets the 10 rings.

Luke learns to use the Force and blows up the Death Star.

Aang masters the elements, Avatar state, and energy bending.

I’m 1 for 4 on these. Will look into if I can view the 3.

I am looking forward to more, but I get why you’d say that.

At the end of the first one, Neo became a god. There is nowhere to go from there.

I am looking forward to more

I have not seen the recent sequel and did not realise there may be more. I’m not saying don’t watch them just that they are not for me.

Sequels decades after the original are rarely any good as they are usually Nostalgia, the movie, with nothing new to say.

Fury Road being the exception that proves the rule as they did not focus on the same character and retell the same story.

On the other end of the spectrum, the new Beverley Hills Cop looks absolutely dire.

You sound like you bitterly cherish a story to the chagrin of letting the story continue and letting it challenge your definition.

I loved the first 2 matrix movies.

I also love the next 2.

I am excited for the fifth.

You don’t gotta be, but I am.

Edit: Am excited for Fury Road: Furiosa and am open minded about Eddie Murphies next gig.

          All art is… what’s the word…

          Edit2: derivative.

          All art is derivative.

So I still get hyped to see how an artist gives me some art that is derivative of something they made and I loved.

          Jk Rowling removed…
