Welcome to the new format of [email protected]! Instead of the daily post focusing on the NYT crossword like on /r/crossword, we’re now open to discussion for all daily crosswords.

I request using Lemmy’s spoiler function to avoid spoiling answers for others. It’s not something I plan on enforcing, just want everyone to extend courtesy to others. For those checking the comments, some spoilers may slip by, so please proceed into the comments with caution.

I aim to post these at 10 PM EST the day before, in line with the current post times.

If there are any other crosswords you would like to see added to this list, please let me know and I will add it in a future post.

Thank you for being a part of this community!

Holy moly there’s loads of these! Will give them all a try in a bit

Nyt 37s though, only made one mistake (spoiler: used the word off in lieu of bad. Think that’s a typically Brit versus US term).

Can’t get the LA Times one to load (tried two browsers)

Edit: USA Today I’m not allowed to play from the UK

      WAPO is way too hard

Arkadium doesn’t show the whole thing on my screen (and the timer doesn’t make sense)

      Telegraph requires an account

Final edit: only the Pennsylvanian one seems playable to me (aside from NYT), but even those ones seem quite hard (and not quite daily for some reason)

Hmm not sure why the LA Times one isn’t working. Any extensions or private DNS’s that might be interfering?

WaPo was definitely tough. Had to use a hint.

Telegraph requiring an account is weird. I’m able to access the Mini crossword just fine when logged out in incognito/private browsing? I don’t know if it’s a UK thing.

The Pennsylvanian does appear to be a bit irregular, yeah. I’ll keep it in for now. Might remove it if it’s too irregular.

      • NYT: 0:23
      • LA Times: 1:39 (wew tough one)
      • USA Today: 0:21
      • WaPo: 3:31 (woo boy even tougher. Had to use a hint)
      • Arkadium: Something’s weird. My clock says 10 minutes even though I probably spent a little over 2 minutes here.
      • Telegraph: 0:58

Ah, of course. I should’ve channelled my inner American teenage girl.

That puzzle was very hard. The grandmaster clue is a great fakeout because of the first thing that will come to mind.

That’s the only one I “got” without help too, haha fuck’s sake

NYT: wtf is “ELS”? — I can’t find a definition for it, or figure out any kind of reference or pun?

17:16 for the NYT crossword. Found the Monday to be tricky yet again. Lots of name clues.
