I thought not. It’s not a community the Fediverse would show you. It’s a Lemmy legend.

I created this community as a new home to the now dead and defunct /r/didyoueverhear. I hope to be able to keep the Tragedy of Darth Plagueis alive. If you have any tragedies to share, feel free to peruse the community:

p.s. @[email protected] a link to it in the sidebar would be highly appreciated.

There were some really good tragedies back at spezland, but combing through it made me realize they’re all very old memes i.e. pre-covid. Is there even good memes/stuffs going on in 2023 that we can write new tragedies about?

Have you ever heard the tragedy of the submersible Titan? I thought not. It’s not a story The commoners would tell you. It is a billionaire legend. The Titan was a submersible so uniquely engineered that it used a Logitech controller to maneuver itself. Its owner had such a way of advertising that he even managed to convince people to join without testing. He became so greedy that that the only thing he was afraid of was losing his business, which he did. Unfortunately he was crushed when personally riding his submersible along with other billionaires. Ironic, he could take billionaires to see the Titanic but not himself.

Yea I’ll add you later (and some other comms that have popped up these days). Right now editing the sidebar is a pita due to errors. Remind me if I forget.
