The reason that people generally give as to why they want Confederate monuments and statues is because of the history and tradition behind it.

So obviously those people should have no problem with this sort of display. This statue has even more history now than it did before.

Restoring the statue would erase that history, so logically it stands to reason that they would like destroyed Confederate statues and monuments even more than the originals. /s

Actually made it more interesting for future generations.

Spawns a discussion on societies changing moral values.

Could be a great lesson for school kids (and adults).
