Where do you like to take lifestyle vacations. My wife and I have been to Secrets Hideaway in Kissimmee a couple of times and have enjoyed it. A few weeks ago we went to a takeover in Chicago and we enjoyed that as well.

There are countless resorts, cruises, takeovers, clubs, and so on and so on and so on. What are your favorites and why?

I’m going to answer my own question about what we enjoyed about Secrets.

With Secrets, I love the variety of rooms. The first time we went we cheaper out and got a basic room. I do not recommend that. The basic rooms are bottom of the barrel roadside motel rooms. They aren’t comfortable or interesting. The upgrade is definitely worth the money.

Both times we have gone the playrooms have been very active and a lot of fun. My wife LOVED the dungeon the first time we went. The second time it was managed differently and was still fun, but lost some of its magic.

It does seem like it is always under construction to some degree. The upside to that is there seem to be improvements or changes when we go.

Our next year looks pretty full already, but I’m hoping we can make it back soon.

The only lifestyle vacation we have done is a 5 day stay in Cap d’Agde, in southern France, last summer.

For those that don’t know the place, ‘Cap’, as it’s often shortened to, is a nudist/naturalist town on the Mediterranean coast. There’s a large camping ground, as well as a section of the village that are designated nudist areas. Though not all nudist are swingers, of course, the town has attracted a large swinger population in the summer months and has a bunch of clubs next to the hotels and nude beach.

We stayed in one of the more established hotels, the Babylone. The room was OK, but nothing special. The pool was very nice, though, and there were parties at the pool pretty much every night we were there. The larger parties, where people not staying at the hotel could also attend, were… an overwhelming experience. We had 35+ degree (celsius) weather so people were not wearing much to begin with. You pretty much couldn’t take step without carefully avoiding a naked body. I remember at one point my wife was ‘dancing’ on stage with a partner… Ah well. Good times.

The pool parties were good enough that we didn’t get much chance to try out the clubs in town. We did go to the famous ‘foam party’, but that was a little too much for us, we do like to be able to see who we’re touching. That days was also even hotter than the others, and there was little shade in the venue.

Walking around naked, or as good as, in town took a little getting used to, but not as much as I’d expected. And there really was no obligation to do so, everyone there just did what they felt like. Oddly enough, people tended to walk around naked during the day, but dress up nicely for dinner and going out afterwards. So in a way it was the inverse of the normal experience at swingers clubs where you start naked and undress after a certain time.

We would like to go again, but perhaps also try different places. I hear there’s some interesting resorts on Gran Canaria, but haven’t been yet. Certainly, the hotel prices at Cap were quite high, and I can understand why many people try to book something like an apartment or stay on the camping grounds. Being in the hotel where the pool parties were did save us quite a few lines, though, and made it easy to get started at Cap.
