Is there no way to search all instances?
Not yet. There’s an outstanding bug with Lemmy itself that makes it impossible to create a universal link to posts. Once that is resolved you can search everywhere.
In the meantime you just have to wait until 1) the post is federated to your instance and 2) the crawler discovers it.
Hmmm… I struggled to find my own post. I found it eventually once I located the lemmy.world instance in the huge drop down.
It’s pretty new software and still not finished, just like Lemmy itself C:
