People are sleeping on the car folding into a suitcase. You would basically never need to pay for Uber, Taxis, or rent a car again. Also you never need to pay for parking, and can now easily park in places with limited parking spots.

And it’s a discount hammer space option since you can fit a car’s worth of stuff in the car which is in your light suitcase. For some people that would be more useful than fitting an arbitrary amount of stuff in a car-sized space, since a car is relatively large and heavy on its own.

Pretty much every time someone offers an extreme as a solution it’s a case of “easy answers to hard problems”. The real optimal solution is almost always very nuanced, but dumb people just latch onto extremes because they’re easier to understand.

Take farming as an example. Under the Soviet Union it was a textbook communism command system, and it was insanely inefficient with massive food shortages. But conversely you don’t want it to be 100% privatized either because then it will devolve into a few mega monopolies that just grow cash crops like almonds which destroy the local ecosystems.

Ideally there would be a combination of private farmers with government oversight to prevent negative social externalities. But your average Fox News junkie or tankie doesn’t have the patience or rationality to understand that.

Yeah but the point of the saying “separate the art of the artist” is that it’s difficult to reconcile a piece of media you would otherwise like with the fact the artist is a POS.

Basically everyone agrees Mein Kampf sucks, even Nazis only like it performatively. So there’s no reconciliation necessary if you don’t like the media anyway. OP’s comic feels like a miss, the obvious strawman doesn’t even says he likes it just that it’s alright so it barely even fits the saying anyway.

  • Again that’s a use case with entirely speculative applications at best. It can “process info”, but the answers it gives from them could be hallucinated. So if it’s analyzing nuclear threats, what if it “hallucinates” one? This isn’t Comcast ticket support, the military can’t afford LLMs making up bad info.

Except 90% of what people talk about when they refer to AI is LLMs which have no direct military applications other than vague productivity boost claims. You could say the same thing about sending kids to the mines, “our society is more productive sending kids to dig out coal instead of playing. If we don’t send our kids to the mines China will and then we’ll really be behind”.

hassas is like early 30s and if we make the big big assumption he has $1m in actual savings

Bro please Hasan was in the top 5 most hours watched on Twitch last year. Twitch leaks from 2021 (5 years ago when he was “smaller”) show he made $3 million just from ads, not even counting any other sponsorships or deals he had.

And he’s got you out here thinking that he “might, just maybe, if we really stretch belief” have $1 million total net worth. It would be comical if it wasn’t so sad.

This is exactly why streaming is so disgusting. You’re carrying water for a guy who is a multi multi millionaire because you have a parasocial relationship with him and think he’s your friend.

    1. The person in OP’s picture could retire today and never work again. So clearly it’s not “sucking out his soul” since it’s entirely voluntary.

    2. He’s also talking specifically about streaming which is the absolute lowest common denominator of online content. Like people just flip on OBS and record themselves playing games or eating or reacting to other content, literally just things they would be doing anyways even if they weren’t recording. No one is owed the ability to make money streaming and it’s hard to find a “real job” that provides less value to society than streaming.
