CAVOKOPto Europe@feddit.org•New Refrigerators, Washing Machines, Furniture and Tires Will All Have to Last Longer, Europe MandatesEnglish1·2 days agoI’m going to assume it’s because of EU voters.
CAVOKOPto Europe@feddit.org•British Airways Slashes Transatlantic Fares as European Travel to US Drops Sharply Under TrumpEnglish9·2 days agoGive me 150% money back if I, or any of my family, are refused entry and I’ll think about it. Not before that.
CAVOKOPto Europe@feddit.org•New Refrigerators, Washing Machines, Furniture and Tires Will All Have to Last Longer, Europe MandatesEnglish4·2 days agoWhy can’t you have both? Create the best value for customers, but you have to adhere to these regulations.
Seems like a perfectly reasonable position to me.
CAVOKOPto Europe@feddit.org•The thing about Europe: it’s the actual land of the free nowEnglish1·9 days agoLook back at my posting history. There’s no shortage of bad or dumb comments. But also a lot of good ones. I tend to focus on those. Well reasoned responses, even if they don’t agree, I read and engage with.
Huh? You’ve posted one article and a few comments are a bit weird, so now you’re leaving?
Is this your first day on the Internet?
It was a good link, keep going. We need more people posting about economy matters.
CAVOKOPto Europe@feddit.org•Geopolitical shifts will affect Iceland's EU referendum, says prime ministerEnglish2·10 days agoStrange. Just tested it again and it works for me, despite all the uBlock and PrivacyBadgers I have enabled. (;
All totally justified, therefore not sins. Apparently.
I was aiming for theodicy.
CAVOKOPto Europe@feddit.org•Tunisia dismantles dozens of coastal camps housing migrants hoping to reach EuropeEnglish2·10 days agoRegarding the last point, I thought it was relevant since migration is an issue that defines a lot of what’s going in in the EU/Europe as of late, but feel free to remove it if you think it’s appropriate. I don’t think you’re very heavy handed in your moderation, and I’ll still keep posting things that I believe are relevant and interesting to share.

But OMXS was up today, so it’ll go down tomorrow I expect.
CAVOKOPto Europe@feddit.org•EU pauses counter-tariffs against US to 'give negotiations a chance'English2·11 days agoAlready dropping again. So not even until then…
Happy to hear that. Not usable yet?
So it’s another bing front-end. Like ecosia. Aren’t there any european indexes?

Freedom of Movement (FoM) has worked out pretty well for the EU, especially well before the enlargement. The tensions came with the inclusion of the old “eastern bloc” countries where there was a rather large disparity between them and the richer west. I’m generally in favour of FoM, but I also recognise that with a big difference in standards there will be some issues.
So yes, FoM works, but there has to be rules attached. The UK didn’t apply most of the rules they could have, which eventually led to a perception that FoM is bad, and then Brexit.
CAVOKto Europe@feddit.org•Mass stabbing in the German city of Mannheim in May 2024: a new investigation suggests Russia may have had advance knowledge of the violence, raising questions about hybrid warfareEnglish28·13 days agoSurprising nobody. I’m convinced that Russia is using criminal gangs to create chaos in pretty much every country in Europe. If I had my way those gangs would face terrorism charges as well as the regular ones, if a link could be proven.
CAVOKOPto Europe@feddit.org•Europe has a 'real opportunity' to take in Americans fleeing Trump. Is it ready for a 'brain drain'?English11·13 days agoMaybe? But there’s no evidence of US-government tampering with the brexit referendum, but there is for the Russian government. I’m not going to defend the US, certainly not currently, but I’d like to see evidence before accusing the US of something. They’ve done plenty of shady stuff, so there’s no shortage of things to blame them for, but so far I haven’t seen any evidence of US state sponsored brexit shenanigans.

CAVOKOPto Europe@feddit.org•Europe has a 'real opportunity' to take in Americans fleeing Trump. Is it ready for a 'brain drain'?English12·13 days agoI’d say both. There were absolutely Russian money involved in brexit. By saying this I’m in no way denying US far-right involvement. I don’t think it was state-sponsored from the US though. I 100% believe it was when it comes to Russia.

To me it seems that the Pope met with JD Vance for 5 minutes and then lost his will to live.
