42·21 hours agoIn a vegan world, chickens, cows, and other livestock would go extinct because humans would no longer have a use for them.
Modern factory farm chickens only live to about 2-3 years, even in good conditions. Sorry, but their lives just aren’t that important to me compared to everything else in the world. To me, these facts aren’t harsh, they’re just reality. We have bred chickens to be disposable and used as food. So how can I be upset that they’re treated as a disposable food source?
It’s a matter of opinion. You are convinced this practice is horrible and evil. I, and a large portion of the population, just don’t see it that way. We see it the same as farming. You grow something, then you harvest it. I’m all for better quality of life for livestock, but only because it leads to better quality meat. Ethics don’t really factor into it because I don’t see anything unethical about it.
I get the feeling that you think if everyone knew how the sausage was made, we’d all stop eating it and demand change. But we already know how the sausage is made, and it’s delicious.

Excuse me, but how the fuck do you know that? You say that like 3rd parties being created and taking federal offices happens all the time. We haven’t had a serious 3rd party, let alone one that takes federal office, for well over 100 years. Don’t pretend you know what it takes, because we haven’t even fucking tried. It’s uncharted water!
“intelligent”, no they certainly aren’t that.
“Wave of the future”, unfortunately yes. They are. AI is entering nearly every field, and to ignore that because you desperately want to believe that’s not the case is just burning your head in the sand. It absolutely is the wave of the future, it’s just not a very good future.

6·4 days agoI keep meaning to make a browser extension that automatically adds some version of “AND WELCOME TO THE JAM” anytime the word slam is used.
Not sure, but I doubt it. Whatever he used, it wasn’t supposed to be in a bathroom. I moved out a month later and the paint was ALREADY warping and falling off in places from the humidity of, you know, a bathroom.

I rented a place that had a really bad mold problem in the bathroom. We tried cleaning it but it kept coming back, it was clear it was deep in the sheetrock and baseboards (which were also rotting). I told the landlord again and again about it and he kept promising that he was planning on refurbishing it and taking care of everything.
Well, one day he finally shows up with a big bucket of paint and just paints over everything. Didn’t even bother scraping off the old paint. That was my final sign to move. Just ridiculous he thought that would solve anything.
Any time someone mentions FTL, I use it as an opportunity to let people know about the Multiverse mod. It’s been praised by the original devs and is like 4x bigger than the base game.
It’s set 20 years after the first game and adds hundreds of new ships and weapons, several new races, new sectors, thousands of new events, new win conditions, new achievements, everything. It’s essentially FTL 2.
If you liked the original FTL, seriously check out Multiverse, it’s breathed new life into the game in a way I’ve never seen another mod do.
Shut up and get back to work! You must create capital for those at the top to enjoy, this is the only point to life.
