Two centrist Democrats, Reps. Jared Golden of Maine and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez of Washington, took the unusual step Tuesday of rescuing GOP leaders’ own agenda in the face of a conservative rebellion.
Those Democrats backed a key GOP procedural vote that needed to succeed for Republicans to later bring several bills to the floor.
I only copy/pasted from the article.
For anyone else who has never heard of her:
Beginning as a child star, with a long career in both TV and film, Panettiere is remembered for her roles as Claire Bennet on the hit series “Heroes” and as Juliette Barnes on the musical drama “Nashville.”
She also starred in “Remember the Titans,” “Raising Helen,” “Ice Princess” and “Scream 4.”

That’s great, but Microsoft fucked their OS up so God damned bad for so many years, that I’m still not going to switch back.
climate change, financial concerns and prioritising adventure

I purchased the OnePlus 17 over the holidays, and hate it. It’s so full of AI bloatware I actually purchased a third party camera app just so that my photos won’t be heavily AI manipulated. It’s so bad, that I have actually been considering converting back to iPhone. The last iPhone I owned was the 4.

Anyone remember this? https://youtu.be/kWSIFh8ICaA

In April 2024, an Indian-origin customer named Bhuwan Chitransh complained about a defective MacBook skin on Twitter. Dbrand responded by mocking his surname with the tweet: “Your last name is basically shit rash, be serious.” […] CEO Adam Ijaz acknowledged the remark as a “severe lapse in judgment”
Holy shit that’s an understatement!
It’s a country in West Africa, for anyone (like me) that had never heard of it before.

I’m guessing Paki as a slur for a Pakistani individual, but maybe pedophile?
It’s all bullshit, just like every time.
If it takes longer than expected, I close out the app and open it fresh. Seems to do the trick, but definitely annoying.

To put this in perspective, an Olympic sized swimming pool is 804,836 gallons (assuming 8ft depth). 29 million gallons is 36 Olympic sized swimming pools.

No typos. Go back and read the quotes.
He says this is supposed to be individual and based on payroll taxes. You don’t have payroll taxes until you are on the payroll.

“That little girl who is born this year, she’s going to be 70, and the math is if you contribute regularly to it, by the time she’s 18, she’ll have $170,000 in that account
Let’s say this girl starts working at 14, which is unlikely. Dipshit Ted Cruz thinks she’s going to contribute enough funds in 4 years (plus investment returns) to total 170,000? Give me the name of the trader in charge of that account!
Not entirely. I tried to leave when they enforced the initial API changes, but there’s just not enough content on Lemmy to satisfy me. I ended up finding Relay for Reddit which uses the API and costs me a couple dollars a month. I still won’t contribute to Reddit anymore (no voting, posting, or commenting), but it was a great way to get content from my long curated lost of subreddits. Now I won’t be able to use the Relay app anymore. I’m never using the Reddit app, so that leaves browsing on mobile using Firefox with uBlock Origin and Reddit Bouncer to cut through all the shit. I’m not sure I’ll actually browse that way, but I didn’t think I’d go back at all after the initial API changes either.
