I’ve used the drop in cold water, heat to boiling, then turn heat off. Leave eggs in hot water, set a timer for 12 minutes and once complete, transfer to ice bath in fridge.

Technology•Ubuntu Linux raises minimum system memory requirements by 50% — requirements bumped to 6GB of RAM, previously raised from 1GB to 4GB in 2018English
3·13 days agoI just put mint on the same laptop from 2014 that you’re talking about. My intent is to use it as something with more real estate than a phone when lounging around. Replaced battery, fan, and replaced spinning rust with a spare SSD. Last week upgraded the ram to 16gb ($40ish on Amazon for ddr3l!!). Only reason I upgraded it was because Firefox would occasionally stutter on scrolling.
I agree with you 100%. As a motorcycle rider and pedestrian/runner, I am all too aware that even if you are in the right as to your personal choices - it will suuuuuck to be unseen from someone piloting a larger vehicle. Responsibility doesn’t solely fall on the pedestrian in this instance - but why wouldn’t someone at a disadvantage want to up their visibility? Had a bicyclist the other night on an unlit Street wearing all black and no lights or reflectors on their bicycle. 25mph zone but two way narrow in-town street. I only knew they was there because the car in front of me crossed the double yellow - and looking in the rear view, had pulled off to the side but was next to invisible…
Yeah there is a lot of fuss about the cx5 turning to touchscreen and people hating it (in literature, not sure on the experience side yet). I have a 2020 and like the setup it has for sure.
Dear Lord I’m not the only one wondering what RPM stands for!!
No worries at all, it’s just fun to be able to relate to how our bodies will break down just like a car with no maintenance. When you’re young, you don’t worry about it as much and the aches and pains. Just another fact of getting older that most people get to experience.
I’m riding into my fifties - and given recent pricing ridiculousness with video cards and now ram, my desire to build my own is significantly less. No cost savings and then adding the time investment starts to become less attractive as years go by. I was looking forward in the next year or two to upgrade my circa 2020 build. I’ve held off due to abhorrent video card pricing - Love me some games but I’ve been playing more single player non-demanding games (metroidvania types).
You just unlocked another memory. Doing some bleach cleanup of a wall that had animals in it (painted cinder block behind framing). 2 sections out of 6 completed, I threw my back out. I continued to finish the clean up in agony because I was so mad about the problem at hand. I need to focus more on my upper body and back (I run a lot, but that does close to nothing for core support).
I wrecked my neck sleeping wrong once. Had to go get meds because it wasn’t getting immediately better the next day (nor the next two after). That’s the part about getting older that sucks. “Surprise your next hurts!”
I have a machine in my garage that gets used for music and the random football game. Starting it up after being down even a few weeks starts the churn of updates. It’s annoying.
Gonna start down a rabbit hole here - but are there any good rf remotes for htpc? I’ve been using Nvidia shield devices for the better part of what feels like a decade now and they’re awesome - with the exception of lacking hardware av1 decode.
Depends on how fast the technology can dump current. Lead acid is particularly good about dumping a ton of current to crank.
My jerboa fails
Same. I did have some retention early in the panel’s life (Investigation Discovery logo) - but that’s vanished and it’s been fine.
I was in college and loved Arby’s beef and Cheddars. Ordered 5 at the drive through, ate them all within 20 minutes. Oof. I still remember how heavy they were.

I know you’ve mentioned having a fitbit. Years ago I had a hand me down and it gave me insight into my sleep that was invaluable. Fast forward, got back into running for the fifth or so time in my life - a few Garmin watches later, and made a conscious choice post covid to stop making myself miserable through alcohol. I still enjoy a drink here and there but it is absolutely stunning how bad one or two drinks will screw up your sleep - and at that point it is a good night but the entire next day is garbage. Short version of this was meant to say - get good sleep tracking and it may open your eyes a bit and help you focus on your goals. I go to bed much earlier than I used to (9pm feels late now) and target 8 hours of quality sleep - especially on nights before runs, which now is every two days unless I have an event - like a concert or something - that wipes me out.
