I’m not prepared to just buy the “it was sexism” excuse, that’s a convenient one for Democrats to tell themselves - “oh, there was nothing wrong with the campaign we ran, Americans are just sexist”. If a man had done exactly the same campaign as Harris did it would have ended the same way. Fundamentally the Democrats went with a “you guys have to vote for us” strategy and figured they just had to win over right leaning voters instead, and they didn’t really win them over and lost chunks of the left at the same time. I’m not suggesting sexism played no part at all, but I’m not putting the blame solely or even mostly there.

On a similar note, I was playing through Dark Souls 3 on my PS4 and got invaded in the Grand Archives. I hate PvP but I always try to at leaat give it a go, but that doesn’t mean I’m above playing dirty so I used a Seed of a Tree of Giants while I waited for the invader to find me at the entrance. Eventually they did but I was sitting in a corner and as they got closer I rolled forwards and went on the attack. It wasn’t clever or pretty but we fought and I beat them, and a few minutes later I got a whiny message calling me cheap and accusing me of “R1 spam”, which kept me chuckling all the rest of the day

Sure, and more generally I’m sick of religion, but Christianity is the one that has the biggest impact on my life and so it’s where all my disdain goes. I still don’t hate religion, fundamentally it’s religious people that I hate, and they’d only be using something else if religion didn’t exist. But fuck me do I have no patience for Christians these days

For the past few years I’ve found myself leaning more towards retro gaming, even, I’ve enjoyed buying consoles and modding them (nothing crazy, installing ODEs and what have you) and just playing old stuff. There’s a lot from back then that I missed, or didn’t finish, and they’re far more fun even without modern game design than the stuff that comes out today looking like it came off an assembly line
