I like to pin niche Lego communities to get the ball rolling
LuxMtoMicrosoft Flight Simulator•Learned the A320 recently, really enjoying my intro to airliners.English2·3 years agoAll good as far as picking a post goes for your question; it’s early days and we all have simple questions we could use answers to!
Great to hear! Hope you all enjoy the place and we can continue enjoying flightsim without skipping a beat after Reddit

51·3 years agoSince leaving Reddit definitely more participation. Even started some communities; a thing I never really cared for doing, but seems more appropriate and rewarding here!
Luxto Reddit•I made the mistake of checking Reddit (using my last few days of Apollo) and came across a complaint about Lemmy that flabbergasted me
201·3 years agoDark grays, blues? Squared? Good. I love simplicity! Not to mention, Reddit started out like that too, and among the older wave of users old.reddit was still a favorite for that reason.

781·3 years agoSimilar kind of stuff happens all the time, where public institutions bear the cost and consequences of private enterprises. Good example of a not too dissimilar situation was Memorial Hospital during Katrina, where instead of sending private helicopters and rescue, the firm that owned the hospital opted to wait for “free” US government rescue.
Privatize the profits, but socialize the losses.
Oh yes, I love the winter atmosphere in all kinds of media. The fact that we have such a well crafted and experssive game about surviving just that is really nice.
I’m not against the concept of society at all, but the way TLD portrays the absense of it is superb.
Thanks for the deluge of info! Looks like that channel is an amazing source. Wonder how I have missed it for so long.
I try to enjoy the game slowly, but some sense of a personal roadmap to mastering more and more of it is nice to have. I think you helped me a good deal with that, cheers!
Luxto No Stupid Questions•Are there any Reddit refugees spending more time on Lemmy than Reddit?
2·3 years agoSame like many others here. With Spez’s frankly infuriating behavior I was determined not to go back, and have only spent time here on Lemmy. No regrets, as I’ll take a small growing passionate community over a gigantic dying jaded one. You’re all pretty nice company!
Offbrand bricks are just fine. The reason I picked the Lego name is because everyone knows it. So no worries! If you want to make a specific community for offbrand bricks, I’d be glad to pin it!
Stickied! Let the niche communities flourish
A bit dated as Moskus also said. Skip on OpenOffice in favor of LibreOffice for example.
LuxOPMtoMicrosoft Flight Simulator•Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 - Announce Trailer - 4KEnglish2·3 years agoYeah, it has me (and many in the community (Discord)) torn about this course of action. It’s not turning out to be a great week with all the corporate greed
Always great to see Lego robotics projects. Really sparked the imagination as a kid, and it’s never been uninteresting to see what people come up with
That’s great! Anything that specifically stood out to you that drew you in? I just recall how different it felt from the cartoons back then that had very self-contained episodes
Sadly, this is the only logical conclusion of things that are run for profit. Here’s hoping the federated model proves more resistant in the long run.

We’ll see. If another Lego community pops up that’s fine. I’m not too concerned about a sticky post, more so about making sure these communities get help growing as well.
