I haven’t really played V, but other GTA games I just treat like arcade games where I start by stealing some car and try to stay away from the cops and steal bigger/cooler shit for as long as I can without getting caught

I watch TOS relatively frequently, watched a few episodes the other day. It’s a really fantastic show, more great episodes in the first season than some other shows have their entire run. The Spock/Kirk/McCoy dynamic is as special as it has ever been. Pacing is slower, which I like, and even a lot of the mediocre eps do a really nice job setting up a mystery that they actually solve.

There’s also a lot of truly awful eps, and highly outdated bits, but a great show.

Also, much like Janeway I don’t appreciate being called sir, ma’am will do in a pinch. (I know Star Trek was trying to be progressive by using sir universally, but I find it mildly sexist)

And I agree, it hurt to put Voyager as low as it was, the doctor’s rendition and alteration of la Donna e mobile was as brilliant as you state, but still had to put TNG higher, so many great episodes.

I fucking hate this because I write with em dashes and properly used semicolons all the time. I’ve started altering my writing style because I’m worried people will assume it’s AI written because of those things.

I think it’s an improvement overall, but there are places where background tinting on the glass and blurring should be stronger in order to improve contrast/readability. I still want pre-iOS 7 design back, though. Miss that aesthetic.

Maybe it’s just me but I really don’t like this show as much as I thought I did at the beginning. I think I was so happy to have the original formula back that I kinda glossed over a lot of the problems. Still love the cast and set designs and stuff, but as amazing as Ethan peck has been acting as Spock, the writing around him has been ridiculous (how many Spock-in-awkward-situations episodes do we need?) and doesn’t sit with his characterization in TOS. They talked about explaining Spock’s smiling in the second pilot, but his saying “Ah yes, one of your earth emotions” makes so much less sense with all the exploration of emotion he has done here.

You’re right about having to check everything written, the problem is that the unpaid intern loses you time while you have to check all the work, and then eventually learns enough and gains trust where you can be more hands-off. The AI doesn’t.

Still potential for time savings in non-critical areas where you can actually afford to be less careful, but that appears to be it right now.

I haven’t tried in a while, but shortly after gpt4 came out I tried to play chess against it. It just completely changed the board position nearly every move making illegal moves, adding pieces etc. do current models keep track of the board and make legal moves without special prompting to help? Were these assisted by agentic tools handling state?

We don’t see dolphins afaik, but in tng they do reference there being dolphins specifically with the one door labeled “Tursiops Crew Facility“
