    Depends on the intended use.

Human/brain interfaces have tons of potential for helping people with injuries to their central nervous system. Someone could eventually regain the ability to walk with just a few chips and electrodes.

However if it’s like “fuck yeah I wanna mainline the Internet” then yeah, that shit sucks.

Of course Elon owns the company, so it’s bound to be the stupid thing.

You’re right, some of them are just living off the spoils of robotic inhuman exploiters of other people that came before them.

When people talk about ‘the Rich’, they’re not talking about the people with a few million. They’re talking about people with a 9 or 10 digit net worth. People with way more money than they could possibly spend yet continue hoarding more.
The same people who donate .02% of their net worth and act like it offsets the fact they fucked over thousands or millions along the way.
The same people who criticize the poor for not simply saving for a few months for a down payment on a home. Who think cutting a daily Starbucks is the answer to poverty. Those so out of touch with their wealth that they literally cannot fathom someone who is very frugal but can only manage a double digit ‘slush fund’ earmarked for the little entertainment they can hope to afford for that month but only if there were no unexpected expenses and you didn’t get sick or miss a day of work.

You don’t have to do anything of the sort, especially when you’ve been fully remote for years.

If the company was able to survive 3+ years fully remote, it can survive indefinitely.

I understand that it might feel good to “throw it in the faces” of… Whoever the fuck you’re trying to feel superior over, but this kind of divisiveness only serves to benefit the company and harm the workers.

  • You don’t want to deal with the shit HR handles for you.

I’m sure there are plenty of bad, bureaucratic messes, but 3/4 of the HR departments I the last 10 years have been quite helpful.

The outlier was just not very communicative, but otherwise good.

Maybe it’s the industry. I work in clinical so we’re used to documenting the fuck out of everything. HR mandated documentation is just another step to cover all of our asses.

Apple products are fine, generally well built and easy to use, especially if you value multiple interconnected devices.

The major con is all the horrible tactics Apple uses to protect it’s walled garden. Without that, they can’t extort users into staying because we know their devices and price are not the reason.
