  • I’m fascinated at what type of setup you have in your AEG that it requires ear protection.

Typical AEG work, reshim, regrease, brushless, etc. Top half of the gearbox is padded eva foam under the shell. I believe the culprits of the noise are the piston/cylinder head (no sorbo) it’s always these two isn’t it.

Crazy part, I kept increasing spring weight until it stop gaining energy (full cylinder). At one point, the piston slapped so hard the air coming out of the nozzle is noticeably warm. So, yes, it is extreme. I lower the spring weight after that. Now it got SP130 inside. It actually went down from 2.5 Joule when the spring is new. I believe this only allowed for mil sim sniper role. Quite impressed the gearbox haven’t shattered yet.

I have never ever in my entire life blown a burst disc in any airsoft or paintball gun under any circumstances. I don’t think you need to worry about it.

Thanks for the assurance. I try to avoid any risk of getting the big EEEEEEEEEEE as much as I can.

Anyway, my stupid ass brain just remember that wolverine makes CO2 stock (too occupied with researching HPA engines) Have some experience dealing with cartridges in the past and even in case of failure, it’s not that violent. And this is even better for my use case. I don’t go to any field. Shooting less than a mag every few days, I don’t have to worry about hydro test, bleeding the line, dialing the reg up and then down after half an hour of can massacre.

I can get it ready fast, I can get it back in storage fast. And with some aftermarket part maker offering cartridge with GBB style recharging, that’s cherry on top not having to waste leftover gas. Within 15 min drive, there are places that sell cartridges but nowhere to fill my tank (haven’t ask fire station at the moment)

    Next problem… wallet.
