Yikes. Blame iPhone (and Android) hiding file structure in most every app
In a sense it is, before it gets compiled. And yes I’m using the term loosely, please don’t @ me people
A lot of times, the literal definition varies from what people think of when they hear a thing. We call a lot of similar things words that don’t fully make sense but since other people will know what it means, it’s useful. When everything is an app, piles of specifics are glossed over. That probably doesn’t matter when talking to a non-developer, but sometimes it might. Those of us in software like the specificity because it tells us many things we might otherwise have to ask several questions to learn about. So yeah, sometimes it matters, other times it won’t.
Lol that is cringy as fuckkkkk.
And you couldn’t be more wrong. I’ve ranted about how much I despise Adobe on many, many occasions.
Two things can be true: Adobe is a huge piece of shit parasite evil capitalist bunch of fuckfaces, and some of their products are good even outside of the bias I have by having learned them and being able to use them like second nature. Adobe Illustrator, for example, is a fantastic vector graphics editor.
It must be a hard life you lead, always ignoring practicalities and adhering to ideology. I don’t have the luxury of having 15 hours each day to learn a new Photoshop equivalent. I really wanted to make Gimp work for me but it’s just painful. The day I can figure out all the basic features without a painful struggle, I’ll switch to it in fact.
It’s a format meant for web browsers. If you want your web browser to ignore performance and focus on universally reusable images, I guess. But that’s me making leaps not in the “meme”
TrickDacyto Games•"You can't just have Geralt for every single game" says his voice actor, and if you think The Witcher 4 making Ciri the protagonist is "woke," then "read the damn books"English4·1 day agoRight. The right wingers are arguing (usually without knowing it because they don’t understand words) for people to stay asleep and not think or question
Doesn’t matter who made the format, it’s already widespread.
Insisting other people’s opinions are invalid isn’t the neutral chatter you seem to think it is
What you’re saying would apply if I hadn’t already learned it 20 years ago. This idea implies that for me not to “support” them by giving them no money, I have to learn entirely new, likely less capable software, in some cases. I mean, I wish I had time for that, but absolutely nope.
Pirating their software is not supporting them, not in the least; it’s opposite of it if anything. I’ve tried being nice to you. So now that you’ve rejected that, can you fuck off please?
They aren’t going away anytime soon. “It isn’t worth it” okay well if I can run them I will and it’s very much worth it if I can. Which I have been in a vm. Just sucks getting a performance hit.
Pirate that shit. Never ever give them a penny, I know I won’t after they started the subscription model, destroying my upgrade path. What is your frame of reference? I was trained in design and learned to use Photoshop, illustrator, InDesign, premiere, and after effects. These do not suck. They are industry standard for a reason.
The business practices, bloat, and lack of cross platform support are shit but their functionality is actually pretty stellar. Alternatives exist but are kind of lacking in some ways. I don’t get it when people think the tools virtually every professional uses are dog shit…
Let it die? Windows is 10x more likely to die in the next decade and I’m not counting on that ever happening
Hard disagree. Adobe the company is awful but Photoshop, illustrator and Lightroom are useful. It is enraging the hoops you gotta jump through to sort-of use them on Linux.
Unless you can see others driving. In which case you’ll probably see or hear them doing rude or psychotic behavior. Or at least that’s how it is here
