Generally, you can assume that a newer CPU with a the same thread count as an older CPU will outperform it.

However, you’d have to keep in mind a CPU is a very complex entity comprised of its cores, its cache, its bridges, its controllers and whatever I’m missing. Intel, for instance, would not make any huge changes to architecture every other generational skip. It’s what they called tick-tock. The tick would be a new concept, the tock would be a refined version.

Ik krijg een beetje de kriebels als ik lees dat een regime onder Trump een ‘loophole’ in de WTO-reglementen weet te vinden. Over het algemeen praten ze alsof ze een nieuwe fiets hebben en dat dat ze de de facto populairste jongen in groep 5 maakt, ook al moeten ze om de week nablijven omdat ze hun Rekenen-huiswerk niet hebben gemaakt.

Dan is óf de regelgeving van de WTO te laks, óf zijn er toch nog Trumpets met de hersencapaciteit van twee of meer amoeba.

Ik ben wel eens gaan nadenken en ik kom tot de conclusie dat ik helemaal niet zoveel Amerikaanse dingen gebruik. Het gros van de tech hier is Samsung (Zuid-Korea), ik gebruik geen sociale media anders dan Lemmy, mijn huis wordt geregeld door Ikea en Home Assistant, allemaal niet in de cloud. Vaatwasser is zelfs Nederlands (Inventum). Koffiezetapparaat is Philips.

Frisdranken en dergelijke is bij ons overwegend Lidl huismerk.
