Because these very perpetrators own said media and their conglomerates have bought and hollowed out independent outlets.

Life is hard right now, and struggling to get by while doing the best you can has never been trashy. Having a roommate and a 3 year old is far, far from trashy.
However giving your three year old unfettered access to the internet/YouTube is definitely trashy.

TenForward: Where Every Vulcan Knows Your Name•Kirk did this dude so dirty lol
6·11 hours agoThe next episode, Yesteryear, had Spock going back in time to save himself as a child, which is apparently the only reason he’s alive at all (🙄) and I’m just like ‘Where’s Michael?’

TenForward: Where Every Vulcan Knows Your Name•Kirk did this dude so dirty lol
5·11 hours agoFantastic, I’m watching through them for the first time as an adult. Can’t wait! I was planning on watching the entire franchise in release order, but season 3 of TOS was a challenge, and knowing my reward at the end of it was TAS did not help. Yesteryear was fairly good, as I’ve come to expect from Fontana, but even the premise that Spock is only alive because he went through the guardian and saved himself as a child MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE. it’s too paradoxical even for Trek. Anyway can’t wait to see Kirk and crew traumatize the rest of the galaxy.

World News•Dubai CEO Resigns After Released Email Showed Epstein Thanking Him For ‘Torture Video’English
7·11 hours agoI don’t know whether to joke about how sex pests love ends, or correct you in that his emails in the files are regarding torture videos he liked…
There’s at least one document that outright says it, but they have since removed it (shocking!) it was in batch 11:

You also got a couple of replies with key words to look for. Once you see those in context it’s undeniable.
Oh cool, they’re back! And they’re self censoring their own name! 🤢
Yes, they trafficked, imprisoned, tortured, raped, farmed, performed rituals with, and ate, both girls and boys. I hesitantly suggest looking into the male victim Sacha Riley’s accounts and the released documents yourself because no one benefits from disseminating the information to you. There’s a reason the zeitgeist is only focused on certain aspects of the released files. I am a long long time conspiracy theorist and while some of the content has been incredibly …validating, knowing that at no point was I ever crazy, it has also been massively traumatizing, and I suspect they were released in such a way to impose secondary traumatic stress on the public. All a part of their grooming of society, also heavily outlined in the released documents. Tread lightly, I have been having nightmares every night since I’ve been reading these.

No offense intended, some of us were just raised by the internet.
I don’t think after bombing the schools and hospitals and vaporizing the residents they are too concerned with the legality of bulldozing their residence.

Ask Lemmy•What desktop operating system would you recommend to the average user?

Ask Lemmy•What desktop operating system would you recommend to the average user?
3·3 days agoYes. I’ve been switching non-tech people to Linux for 17 years. Ubuntu used to be the go to, but it has a steep learning curve for the average user, sucks, and has gotten consistently worse. Everyone eats their shit over Mint, and Cinnamon is nice, but I’d still field a lot of complaints. Pop! OS is awesome, but still only 90% of the way there (and also people hate the name).
Bazzite is feature complete, requires zero tinkering on their end or mine, and ‘just works’ the way people expect a modern desktop OS to. I’ve converted just under a dozen people and several of my personal machines and haven’t had an issue yet. So yes, I would recommend a young, gaming focused distribution to a non-tech person. Isn’t Steam OS also young and gaming focused? And yet it’s arguable that most non-tech people start their Linux journey there. bazzite is just an improvement on Steam OS. So yeah, I like it. I don’t understand all the ire in this thread for my answer to the question. Everyone has their opinion, I have field research.

I like that explanation.
