  • I know this isn’t really a universal indicator, but for me it’s been watching the price of simple things like chips, candy, and soda ($3 for a 20 oz bottle?!?). All things that i enjoy occasionally but as the price of all these things continues to rise it becomes easier to say no. I was shocked to see the bagel place in town charging $15 for a sandwich on a bagel. Nobody seems to bat an eye though. I think I’m probably just getting gradually priced out of my town ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Of course I’m aware i don’t have to buy any of that stuff and i can cook and make food at home, and that’s what I’ve started doing. I may treat myself on occasion but i just can’t justify spending that much on stuff that didn’t used to cost half that. I’m probably just getting old and remember “back in my day” all too well, lol

  • What stuck out to me was how differently the Democrats and Republicans present for the moment had such different recollections and perspectives on what actually happened. Leavitt claimed Padilla “lunged” at Noem. According to the article, he didn’t even get half a question in before he was “bundled” by FBI and security. Really makes you wonder who’s telling the truth ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ more importantly than that it goes to show the truth doesn’t even matter. Assholes like that can lie blatantly and those that want to believe what she says will simply take her word…or perhaps worse, see the truth for themselves and deny it anyway.

  • Corners were cut and mistakes were made.

This is my assumption about nearly all modern tech. We’ve reached the point where it’s practically standard practice to release unfinished products and/or software. In many cases, it ends up being a particular person or small group of enthusiasts that end up finishing and polishing the product.

Not only that, but support for many tech products is shorter-term than ever. I was talking to a mechanic recently who was surprised to be informed by Alfa Romeo’s parts department, that they did not offer replacements for a particular part for the brake lines on a car that was less than 10 years old…and referred the mechanic to find a seller on eBay who makes them. There was indeed one company making the part and selling them on eBay. That was the aftermarket support, lol!
