frunchto News•Americans are losing spending power, say researchers: Most can no longer afford a 'minimal quality of life'192·2 days agoThere’s nothing good in America because there’s nothing good in Americans. I should know, I was one.
That’s a level of self-awareness this country could use tbh. My man’s not afraid to admit he’s got nothing good in himself in service of making the greater point that none of us Americans have nothing good in us either. 🥂
frunchto News•Americans are losing spending power, say researchers: Most can no longer afford a 'minimal quality of life'28·2 days agoI know this isn’t really a universal indicator, but for me it’s been watching the price of simple things like chips, candy, and soda ($3 for a 20 oz bottle?!?). All things that i enjoy occasionally but as the price of all these things continues to rise it becomes easier to say no. I was shocked to see the bagel place in town charging $15 for a sandwich on a bagel. Nobody seems to bat an eye though. I think I’m probably just getting gradually priced out of my town ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Of course I’m aware i don’t have to buy any of that stuff and i can cook and make food at home, and that’s what I’ve started doing. I may treat myself on occasion but i just can’t justify spending that much on stuff that didn’t used to cost half that. I’m probably just getting old and remember “back in my day” all too well, lol
What stuck out to me was how differently the Democrats and Republicans present for the moment had such different recollections and perspectives on what actually happened. Leavitt claimed Padilla “lunged” at Noem. According to the article, he didn’t even get half a question in before he was “bundled” by FBI and security. Really makes you wonder who’s telling the truth ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ more importantly than that it goes to show the truth doesn’t even matter. Assholes like that can lie blatantly and those that want to believe what she says will simply take her word…or perhaps worse, see the truth for themselves and deny it anyway.
That’s pretty much what they’re stating here–they’re telling protestors in Florida to skip the non-lethal weapons
I suppose they are bringing you Enough Musk Spam ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

This is my assumption about nearly all modern tech. We’ve reached the point where it’s practically standard practice to release unfinished products and/or software. In many cases, it ends up being a particular person or small group of enthusiasts that end up finishing and polishing the product.
Not only that, but support for many tech products is shorter-term than ever. I was talking to a mechanic recently who was surprised to be informed by Alfa Romeo’s parts department, that they did not offer replacements for a particular part for the brake lines on a car that was less than 10 years old…and referred the mechanic to find a seller on eBay who makes them. There was indeed one company making the part and selling them on eBay. That was the aftermarket support, lol!

I went to bed laughing about this image. Woke up having forgotten it, just to see it again and start my day off laughing. This is peak memery, thank you
I’m old enough to remember when the Internet was this for us:
But if you clean the super-fine filter it’ll work great for like 2 uses! (Then back to mediocrity and mild resentment…)
frunchto News•After Rubio seeks to revoke their visas, Chinese students say U.S. resembles the country they left181·15 days agoThey have every right to say that about the US, though, and I am happy they can voice thier opinion. Unlike in China, where the government will happily throw you and your family behind bars for saying something even approaching a bad opinion of government action.
I think the concern here could be that revoking visas might be a first step towards a more intolerant policy a la China as referenced above
