Put it this way: you as a working class white person may need one box to see the game, but a working class black person needs two boxes (because they need to overcome poverty and systemic racism, while you only need to overcome poverty)
Nobody is denying the struggle of the working class, but working class white people (specifically cis men) need to recognize that other working class groups are also struggling the same struggle but dealing with additional issues of racism, misogyny, trans/homophobia, etc. at the same time.

Ask Lemmy•If you had to replace the floppy disk save symbol in software with a new symbol for saving what would you choose and why?
21·7 days agoWhat even is the point in changing it? Like sure we don’t use floppies anymore, but it’s a well established symbol for saving.
Who is artist please
Edit: mossy hollow (Jennifer Dunn) in case anyone else is curious
Lol I accidentally read the artist name as Galen Weston who, in case you’re not Canadian, is a billionaire piece of shit, so I was very confused for a minute.
Ugh I’m so stupid, I read this headline and got excited because I thought we were holding literal rat races.

Think globally, act locally. Someone sent me a meme the other day about how everything is connected and so even if you’re just in your own corner pulling at the little threads, you’re helping to unravel the whole cloth (in terms of the awful capitalist hellscape we live in). Appreciated that one.
Also, just like, try to be nice, idk man it can’t be that hard. Make eye contact (as best as you feel comfortable doing so). Smile at people. You don’t know what shit they’ve been going through.

pics•Sydney Opera House lights up to honor victims of Bondi mass shooting
7·11 days agoIt is, and I believe absolutely intentional that they chose to honour Jewish victims by a different yet completely recognizable and meaningful symbol. It makes sense given that it was the beginning of Hannukah but I really think this was a deliberate and important choice.

6·23 days agoI don’t shave my face so take this with a grain of salt, but I have been convinced by several people with shaved heads that shaving with a safety razor and badger hair brush is the way to go for the closest shave.
It’s also like INSANELY cheaper than disposable razor heads and they last longer. Like we used to buy a pack of gilette heads for $40-50 for 12 every couple of weeks, now we buy one pack of 10 blades for $5 every few months.
