I have one from Reolink for some years now that, although has cloud features, can also work purely offline. You can connect to it through the browser and view as far back as the sd card you put on it allows. It still kept trying to dial home though, maybe for updates, blocked it on the firewall just for safety.
Like you I looked for an alternative to Proton and I’ve been using tuta for a couple of years now as my main mail. You can create aliases with your own custom domain. My only non important complaint is that you can’t use other email clients (Thunderbird, K-9), due to their encryption I guess. They are also fairly active in Mastodon.

Acho que a pergunta é sobre instalar a app numa versão antiga do android, e não uma versão antiga da app em si. De qualquer forma a sugestão de utilizar a AuroraStore mantém-se. Embora a minha versão do Android seja recente, eu uso microG em vez de serviços google e a app funciona sem qualquer problema, o que indica que deve funcionar em versões relativamente antigas do Android em si. @[email protected] consegues saber a versão do Android onde queres instalar?
Mudar para alternativas de código aberto é sempre bom, neste caso tens de convencer pelo menos as pessoas com quem falas a mudar também senão de nada serve. Não poderás aceder ás pessoas e comunidades do Discordo pelo “Stoat Chat”. Um pouco como o Lemmy e o Reddit, num mundo perfeito essas grandes plataformas abririam as portas á federação e ajudariam na descentralização da web.
