And now, I’m relying on one of you sheep to codify that fairy tale, build a massive cult out of it, and for you and your associates & descendants to bilk as much profit, territory and power out of such an ongoing sheep-disaster.
(not like I’ve ever seen anything like that before!)
So… they seem to be named after Vince Colletta, the famous comics artist?

Wow, he sounds like quite the character. I’d not heard of him before, but this here quote did remind me of a similar one about habit-building.
IIRC, the idea there is that after 30-45days or so of doing the same thing on a regular basis, something then becomes a ‘habit,’ and out of building such life-habits, one can even alter one’s character so to speak. Or at least have a significant impact on one’s growth and effectiveness in life…
Also, “James Allen” has got to be one of the most common names in English, so the ID would certainly need to be researched(!)
In the wild, most individuals do not live past their first year but some exceptional ones survive up to 11 years. --WP
Yikes, that seems sad for a fox.
Natural predators of the Arctic fox include golden eagles, Arctic wolves, polar bears, wolverines, red foxes, and brown bears.
Still, if all those are lacking on Iceland, I guess it would naturally tend to live longer?

Is there something of a TL:DR that springs out of all that, or is it moreso about the pure stream of observation?
Reverse Google-Image search, then applied translations. I don’t remember specific sites, but it was a couple in Arabic that turned up those titles.

Good questions!
There may be some clues in that interview, but Bahumayd otherwise seems to be a bloke of few words.

“ESH”
Can’t find either the title or the year of painting.
Seems to be titled either “The Birth of a Hero” or “Meat Grinder,” with a date of about 2022-2023.

Ah yes, the freezing. My ancestors would be disappointed in me for leaving that out(!)
Not sure about the protein content of potatoes vs. grains, but IIRC, the vitamin & mineral content is generally superior. Potatoes are a complete superfood one can live on for long periods, again if I’m remembering correctly.
I suppose if I ever go back, I might try chicha again. Was really unimpressed the last couple times I tried it, heh.
Might as well have just put it where the East Wing used to be.

This is how the Incas and other Andes peoples would store their crops-- they’d mash it down in two stages by dint of their feet, and then the potatoes would store indefinitely.
Even better than bread and beer storage of grains, and potatoes are more nutritious than either, to boot.
Something I wasn’t expecting when I moved to this Midwest city was the thriving skunk population. I only run in to them once in a while in person, but the warm weather nights are often filled with their scent.
While I’m quite sure I’d be absolutely miserable if sprayed in person, I’ve oddly come to enjoy their far-milder scent wafting in the air. There’s something unique and almost compelling about it, a bit like my occasional enjoyment sniffing gasoline at the pumps. Inexplicable, and yet there it is.
Okay, a quick search is suggesting that Midwest and East Coast USA is most vulnerable. If you haven’t heard of these things before and you’re not in that area then I reckon you’re all good.
The dangers of those suckers is that they have the potential to get in to the main root, killing that local tissue, which in turn brings down the whole plant. (unless maybe emergency-grafted I guess?)

FWIW, I batch-upload multiple images on a regular basis, much of them also relating to comics. I do that via Imgur (but PixelFed in the Fediverse would be a closer match), then link them in posts here.

One of the greatest 8-bit games ever, completely unique, charming and satisfying to play. I haven’t checked out the unofficial, fan-made sequels for a long time now, and that needs to be fixed, stat.
Fun fact: the in-game “wampus” one could sometimes catch for bonus cash was loosely based on a classic 1973 text-based computer game. It was a pretty dry game originally, appealing only to logicians and some puzzle fans, but was recently ported in to an absolute GEM of a video game.
“Play it now and thank me later!”

I mean… it also sounds like someone browsing ALL or similar, without having taken the time to curate their personal feed. I don’t see that as a Fediverse-issue really, but a characteristic of most social media platforms, including Reddit.
Do zero work to set your account up (or don’t even have one), and you’ll pretty much get the shittiest browsing experience out of all possibilities.
Are you going to take any protections against squash borers? IIRC, wrapping duct tape around the stems can help with that.
Whoa, cool game!
I love webgames, and have a couple more to share along these lines. (altho this one was no doubt the hardest I’ve ever played)
And… I’m thinking this is maybe the first and last time I play this one! Why? Because the idea that I could score higher than @[email protected] (for the day of Jun 16th '26, right?) is both improbable and dumbfounding to me. 😅
But there it is:
