I have a podcast called Almost Plausible where a couple of friends and I take an ordinary object and create a movie plot based on that object.

Fox never gave it a fair shake. It premiered in a time slot where TV shows go to die, and they aired episodes out of order. The pilot episode, which sets up basically everything wasn’t the first episode aired. Damn shame.

Their most recent album is fire.

I feel like having a pony could really turn things around for me.

A couple friends and I have a podcast where we come up with movie plots based on ordinary objects, and all three of us often misremember episodes we’ve done thinking they’re movies we watched.

Well that sure takes me back.

My cat is exactly like this. She seems so puzzled as to why I would ever go in there. Then after I’m done, she likes to go in and watch water pool and run down the drain.

Sort of. In 1984, Phyllis Penzo worked at a pizzeria and Officer Robert Cunningham suggested splitting a lottery ticket in lieu of a tip. Penzo actually forgot about it, but Cunningham won $6 million and honored their agreement. The film came out in 1994, so it was almost certainly inspired by the story (I didn’t find a definitive answer in my incredibly brief search).

The woman pictured in OP’s post is Tonda Dickerson, who was a waitress at Waffle House in Florida in 1999. She was tipped the lottery ticket, and everything in the image appears to be true.

She didn’t even buy that lottery ticket. All that trouble was foisted upon her because someone else gave her the ticket. Imagine you’re minding your own business, and then someone gives you a lottery ticket and your whole life gets turned upside down. It’s crazy to think that It Could Happen to You.

Did we ever get more purple petunias, though? I would be interested in very purple petunias.

I recently visited my city’s wastewater treatment plant for a tour. This was taken from the top of one of the giant digesters that process solids.

Also, a plane gliding to a landing still needs a pretty large, clear area to touchdown and come to a stop safely. Helicopters landing using autorotation need far less space.

I still remember the telnet address to the MUD I played in the late '90s. That will be burned in my brain forever.

I played Munchkin once and hated it. The barrier to entry on that game is way too high.
