Nice! I’m hoping to beat the game as well on this playthrough. I think this is my 5th attempt? 1st game I gave up once I realized mega-plan was not the right approach for this game, pretty early like just after oil. The other 3 died off somewhere in aluminum; one save, I built a huge aluminum processing facility, but after I fired it up found a bunch of critical issues that would basically require a full rebuild. Save dead.

My current save, I’ve finished building my aluminum processing center, I’m going through the arduous process of building the logistics around it… but I’m almost done! It’s enough to process all 6 pure bauxite nodes with OC’ed MKIIs, hoping it carries me through the game but shouldn’t be terribly hard to expand if needed.

This is why HOAs are allowed to exist in the first place.

They tell the city, “hey, you’ve got this huge plot of land that can be developed for residential housing, but it looks like you can’t afford to develop it (roads, water pipes, power, etc). Instead of developing and selling it bit by bit, you can sell the land to us, and we’ll take care of everything, and just cut you your check!”

HOAs pass the municipal buck from the government to the HOA. Since the HOA (in most cases) owns the infrastructure for the community, there isn’t a good way to allow individuals to opt out.

  • I don’t think we’re gonna get anywhere with this, but I’ll end with saying that it isn’t common for people to interject themselves into in-groups to complain about what the in-group likes, especially in places designated for them to talk about said thing.

Hope you have a better day.

You listed like 4 things you dislike about the game, and not in a constructive way (“blueprints are a joke”, “ComTroVerSiaLlY I want my game to be about 🤓”, etc).

Imagine barging into a restaurant because someone said their drink had too much ice, and ranting about how there’s a shit ton of ice, the staff are morons, the menu is a joke, and the food is mediocre.

So… Why are you in this community if you don’t like the game? Genuine question. You’re allowed to not like a game, of course, but why comment on a post with a list of irrelevant complaints that nobody was asking or talking about? There’s music and TV shows I don’t like, but if I see a group of people talking about it, I’m not going to insert myself into the conversation to rudely criticize what their likes.

    receiving a random (wanted) gift

    Coworker hands me a Peep

It’s like you didn’t even read my comment! /s

Also, for the sake of clarifying my original point: it isn’t necessarily that the cookies were free, or that there were so many of them. OOP probably would’ve been just about as happy if the flight attendant overheard her and made a point to give her just a single pack- it’s the being acknowledged and having someone make a deliberate effort for you that gives the warm and fuzzies here.

This poor guy doesn’t understand the immense joy that is receiving a random (wanted) gift from someone.

What tastes better, the piece of candy from the bag you bought, or one randomly handed to you by a co-worker? 😜

It’s so weird how people on the Internet will see a group talking about how they all like or at least appreciate something, and the one person has to make sure everyone knows just how dumb and ridiculous they think that thing is.

I’m curious what kind of objectively better music an enlightened soul like yourself considers good.
