Memmy was how I first got into Lemmy. Feels bad that it doesn’t exist anymore.
Tl;dr March 6, 2025
No, adult onset for me. I think having it develop as a kid is more common, but it does happen to adults as well.
I sure did! I ended up losing a good 30 pounds, I was drinking double or triple the amount of water that I was a few months prior, and probably a few other things that I don’t remember. I sent a message to my primary doctor about my new symptoms and they told me to double up on my Metformin in the meantime. Since it turned out I was type 1, that wasn’t enough to save me until my next appointment.
Mine is a 2017 model. It is a hybrid so there are more electronics. The battery is stored in the trunk and that may be why it’s AGM, if I remember correctly the lead acid batteries can let out some pretty toxic fumes while charging!
Can confirm, am also RAV4 owner who had to pay $350 for an AGM battery.
I learned that I’m a diabetic the hard way (went into diabetic ketoacidosis and spent several days in the ICU). This happened while I was thousands of miles from home and was not a pleasant experience. Thankfully things are pretty well controlled now that I’m on insulin.
I’m glad the company took the report seriously. It is fun to see what kinds of stuff you can accomplish using these vulnerabilities!
Apple has a battery health screen you can go check. What is the percentage it shows on your battery health?
Keep in mind that Hindenburg is an activist investor that likes to short sell the companies it publishes these articles about.
There is a guy who goes by “Cy” who posts videos online of homes he inspects in Arizona. There’s been some crazy stuff he’s found. I enjoy watching his content.
Cryptomator might be a good option. They have clients for Windows, macOS, and Linux. It’s designed around encrypting your cloud storage but nothing should stop you from using it on a USB drive.
Considering how many data breaches have happened this year alone, I wouldn’t be very surprised if your phone number was leaked in one of them, along with your email address. Make sure you use unique passwords for all your online accounts (a password manager can help with this).
I personally really enjoyed the story in Bioshock 2. You should give it a shot!
IIRC in recent years eBay made it so that if you are one of their “top rated” sellers, buyers can’t leave the neutral or negative feedback for a week. Which is nice and all for sellers that are trying to resolve any issues a buyer may have, but not nice for situations like this one.
Is this the one where Homer gets an RV and sets it up in the backyard?
Since these systems come with Core Duo processors, I think they should also support some of the first gen Core 2 Duo mobile chips (I’m thinking like the T7200). Those chips support 64 bit and should be pretty cheap to come by, if you’re willing to do some surgery on the laptop.
I am interested in trying out the journal app. I’ve used several different apps in the past that are mental health focused, such as Daylio and Finch. Although the journal app doesn’t replace them, it may work better just for dumping my thoughts.
That is a processor with some very dried-out looking thermal compound on it. I had to deal with a similar situation today on a machine I was working on.
IIRC it isn’t being updated anymore, the App Store listing is gone. I remember the devs posting something about burnout in the past and I’m assuming they didn’t have the time and energy to keep going on it.
