6·3 days agoI suspect that they consider separation for cause as something different from separation without cause. The article doesn’t explain the term, and I think that it is a pretty bad journalistic lapse.

News•‘We were attacked as bad Jews’: Columbia faculty who supported Gaza protests file claims with Trump’s antisemitism fund
3·3 days agoThis really is amazing. The only real claims might be from people who supported those who Trump was against, and not those who Trump thought were harmed. There is a lovely irony involved here.
This is just the dressing down part. The formal sanctions come after.
What’s really amazing to me is that the city’s lawyer didn’t catch and call them out. That’s also showing a lack of professionalism and ethics because it is clear that they did not read and consider the opposing party’s arguments.
I also think that the Democratic party is lead by people who are among the elite and have no real connection to the average person. The GOP doesn’t either but they tell a story that will compel those with enlarged amygdalas.

11·5 days agoI work at a university and also have many degrees. You’d be amazed at the number of times I have heard people tell me that they aren’t interested in learning, they just want the paper so that they can get a job. For many people, improvement and growth aren’t part of the equation, they are only focusing on a future paycheck.

5·5 days agoWhat’s unusual about this is that to get into Berkeley CS you’re already a super elite student. AI hasn’t been around for so long that these people cheated through high school.

I didn’t do the math but concluded that gold was the better value but harder to handle.
That’s the unironically saddest thing in life.

Only a VERY tiny number of people see complete black. Most blind people are more functionally blind than literally so. That is, their vision is so bad that they need some sort of accommodation to adjust. They DO see the world but not in the way that typical vision does.
