My dog loves to eat swamp water but gets the ick if there are traces of his own spit in a fresh bowl of clean water
Hello. I’ve been silenced, removed and blocked enough on lemmy dot ml for being a filthy leftist but not a falling in line defending totalitarian states full blown authoritarian communist. Sooo I’m blocking everything from lemmy dot ml so I don’t have to be bothered with any more of that nonsense. If you are on lemmy dot ml and commenting on me I will not see it. Ta ta.

“Post quantum backups” sounds like it would be something that sticks around after the next iteration of the universe.

169·7 hours ago- No it’s not.
- Oh fuck off
- You could have just told OP about this politely and it was more a curiosity than an engine. The first known practical use was the kebab spinning engine several thousand years later.
OP, you probably already read https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_steam_engine and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taqi_ad-Din_Muhammad_ibn_Ma'ruf

15·5 days agoI was in a discussion on the post election political situation in Sweden right now and from nowhere my five year old account got flagged as “suspicious” and locked until verified. For whatever reason it refused to hit me with CAPTCHA and the likes. I had no email registered previously and could not verify. I tried a couple of temp email but got no verification sent there. So I registered a throw away at a legitimate email provider and changed it there. Nothing there either.
But I also have mods and at least one admin that doesn’t like me from long ago because I make fun of Nazis. So maybe I am “suspicious”.
Get my health back so I can do everything I thought was there forever.

9·6 days agoIn Sweden it’s a common lazy dinner to fry up a couple of slices of factory made Blodpudding made of pigs blood and rye. Traditions of how it is eaten is regional but I’m used to it with lingonberry jam and grated carrots. It’s quite similar to British black pudding.

Well okay then.
Time and money and a lot less worries. Ahh.
Thumbs up
I don’t remember which one it was but it was back in like 95 and it was the supposedly user friendly one because it had a terminal menu system for installation that only required figuring out every chipset in your beige box yourself and picking out drivers for manual compilation of the kernel and hope it was enough but alas something else didn’t still work and when everything supposedly did there were obscure crashes that had no hits on neither Altavista nor usenet and you were called a lamer for not knowing how to fix whatever in C/Cpp yourself.
