    My comment from the xpost:

This person is openly telling you that the only thing stopping them from being a shitty person is some myth about otherworldly punishment after they die.

Which, of course, means they’ll be juuuust as shitty as they believe they can get away with.

I have had someone actually ask me “Then how do you know what is good or bad?” when I told them I am an atheist, possibly the most insane question I’ve ever heard.

I once had someone respond with astonishment; “but you’re such a good person!” When they found out.

        Thanks, I guess?

‘Yeah, you’d be surprised how good you are when you’re doing good for the sake of it rather than trying to earn some reward.’

That’s really funny because they are the ones not knowing what’s good and what’s bad. Even Bible shows god doing some evil stuff like killing almost everything alive on Earth or telling a father to kill his own son. It confuses me how anyone can say that such god is good.

What is crazy to me is that they decide that using a book that is 2 millenia old to tell them what is good or bad is somehow the norm instead of using your own fucking brain.

I want this to happen to me so I can say “the same way you do” and remind them that they don’t actually follow most of the rules of their religion and just do what they think is right like we do
