Honestly for Yuki it may be any move is the right move. Helmut Marko is never going to let him do anything but be the number two on the second team. At this point I think it might be reasonable to speculate that this is not about Yuki’s driving skills.

I think the in-lap in Bahrain is really going to hurt him with the other teams, so I agree Yuki needs to sign any contract that gets put in front of him.

It’s clear he’ll never be in the Red Bull, Mercedes wants Antoinelli, McLaren, Ferrari are locked for a few years. If all he cares about is staying in F1 then stay at Toro Rosso if they let him, because the other choices are bleak. AM is technically an option if the window licker retires, but that doesn’t seem likely this year.

Audi want Sainz and have signed Hulk, Williams reportedly going to sign Bottas so that leaves Alpine or Haas.

I mean…it seems rb is hesitant to replace Perez for what ever reason (i guess he is dojng well enough and not compromising max…well almost…). Yuki is really outdoing Recardo, so I wounder what they are aiming for…Recardo has a couple races left before they put some one else in his seat…I am sure they were hoping to see him dominate Yuki to justify moving him to Perez seat, but this stage they need anotter new driver in that seat to challenge/test Yuki. Unless they plan to swap both for two new drivers…

I’d like to see Yuki given a 1 year with RBR just to see what would happen. Even if he’s a complete wash, he gets his chance to prove himself, he’s experienced enough it’s not just putting a rookie in the seat and it gives the 2nd RBR seat back to someone who came through their academy.

That being said, I almost expect 2 rookies at Torro Rosso next year. Lawson and whoever performs best in F2.

Makes sense. I do want to see someone new in second rb seat and Yuki shown he has pace…not sure he can handle the pressure though…

I’m not sure either, but he’s at the very least earned a shot, and tbh I don’t see any better options right now. A 1+1 would be minimal risk.

It is because The Honey Badger came up though the Red Bull Academy. So Marko thinks he is better maybe?? I don’t know. Honestly Danny is not a bad driver but not a great one in my opinion.

I think Danniel had a lot of hype around his return but he did not deliver. I hate to say it but he seems to have lost his touch.

Oh absolutely he is not sharp enough anymore. Before I made that last comment I went and double checked his record. It was not that great. 8 wins over 14 seasons and his best championship finish was 3rd. I didn’t bother to compare him to his teammates, but it still seems like it isn’t a record worth the hype.

Seems to? He hasn’t been good enough to justify his seat in F1 for about 4-6 years now imho. He’s jist riding the success of the past, his good looks and infectious smile.
