It is a powerful image for a tiny owl. Everything is so bold, it’s surprising it stayed hidden for so long.
It’s funny, I’ve thought the same thing about blue jays, but I went on a hike with a friend this afternoon, and damn if you really couldn’t see the things in the dappled shade of trees. I’m honestly only used to seeing them out in full sunlight.
(We had one following us. Clearly used to being fed by humans.)
Prepare to have your mind blown… Blue Jays are not blue!
