Dragon Quest series creator Yuji Horii has shared a short update on the status of Dragon Quest XII: The Flames of Fate in celebration of “Dragon Quest Day” today.
Aside from the overture his work just wasn’t that memorable, just… serviceable. Hell contrast the (arguably most popular DQ) DQ8 victory jingle with the one from FF7. Not even a contest.
Feel like Keiichi Okabe (Of Nier Automata fame) could do wonders on a DQ OST but I doubt they’d let the man cook.
Honestly his music wasn’t even all that great IMO. It was just kinda there, like the musical equivalent of wallpaper.
