There are no regulations prohibiting the use of RHD cars on public roads in the United States. As long as an automobile follows federal emissions and safety standards statutes, it can be licensed and used by anyone holding a driver’s license.

But combined with other factors, it’s not inconceivable that a safety issue might exist.

How come manufacturers don’t make rhd cars for the north american market if it has no impact on driving on North American roads?

What does that have to do with determining whether they can be used on the roads here or not? No US manufacturer builds a station wagon anymore. Does that mean they aren’t meant to be used on US roads either?

They don’t because being on the right side of the vehicle doesn’t make sense if you’re going to drive on the right side of the road since it keeps your from seeing the incoming lane.

It might be legal to sell a RHD car in the USA, a RHD car still isn’t meant for that market.
