Another example, Iran has interesting right wing progressive ideas on homosexuality. If you are a man who wants to have sex with men, then your actually a woman and should get a sex change. (Still societal issues, but legally the only way to not be criminalized)

And in this case it confuses the idea of gay rights and trans rights in an odd way, but imagine, it’s the mid-1980s and the Supreme Ayatollah comes out with, it’s ok for men ro change their sex.
