While I love all of Dan Romer’s contributions to that game, as someone who’s studied cults, Ubisoft did such a disservice getting cults so wrong while Christian nationalism was taking over our Federal government.
Ubisoft may have not portrayed cults appropriately, but the soundtrack remained me of my childhood so much that it sold me. I still listen to it unironically, and probably unhealthy.

In fairness, I’ve always heard that quote in the context of negotiating with Nazis.
So this church seems a lot creepier than that quote, even.

Naw, Romer nailed the rural gospel sound so hard. I put some of the FC5 soundtrack on my playlist as well.
