If you haven’t seen it, I recommend Vinland Saga for a similarly dark story. Not fantasy, rather, set in medieval times.

For a good fantasy setting, go for Dungeon Meshi. It also has its dark moments, but is overall a lighthearted show. [email protected]

Alternatively, just listen to the Made in Abyss soundtrack on repeat to help with coping.
