I have to say that I am a bit scared that from lost their way. The more I think about it the more I come to the conclusion that they don’t get their own game anymore.
Souls combat is made for slow 1-on-1encounters and shits the bed in other circumstances. They need to change the level/encounter design to match the combat or change the combat to match the level/encounter.
If you want to have a more action focused combat lean more into sekiro with deflection. Having to roll/block/wait out a fast 12 string combo isn’t fun. Deflection/parry to make yourself an opening to attack the enemy is the way to go here.

I disagree - this made most of the DLC fights very tense, while also feeling mechanically tight. It honestly reminded me a lot of Sekiro: I was able to predict a lot of the attacks even on my first attempt, which made the boss fights a fun puzzle of quickly learning attack patterns while being careful with healing.
And they even added a crystal tear that gives you Sekiro style combat if you prefer that.
