      Wait, I thought our measurements for inflation were based off of standardized goods. Are they really not valued as a ratio of cost to weight?

        The USA uses “Core Inflation” for the calculation, which doesn’t include the “food and energy sectors” because their prices are “too volatile”.

        i.e. If they included them, inflation would look REALLY bad, so they just don’t. For completely made up reasons.

        Go look up the CPI (Consumer Price Index) if you want the REAL inflation numbers. They’re so much worse than anyone is willing to say.
