If the electoral college votes against you then I’d say your voice is not being counted.

Regardless of where the electoral votes go, the breakdown of number of votes is still there and visible, and accessible for all to see in perpetuity. Whether anyone in power cares what those numbers say is another matter, but my vote, and thus my voice, IS counted.

It must be nice to be satisfied with symbolic victories. So much easier than actually winning.

What on earth are you even trying to say? You can never win if you don’t vote, and you’re over here implying that it’s a waste of time to do so. Go back to your troll farm.

I’m implying that being satisfied that your vote is recorded while you continually lose is not a real victory.

I never said it was? Or that I was merely satisfied with that? Voting is the very least a person can do as a citizen, and discouraging people from doing it for ANY reason is asinine.

I am a firm believer that if you lower people’s expectations of what voting does they’ll be more willing to do it. Tell folks it’s gonna change the world and they’ll give up when they find it doesn’t. It’s the only thing that kept me voting after 2004.

So maybe your way is right: Just vote so a number nobody cares about exists somewhere.
