What did I miss about Funko pops? When did that become a thing that people cared about?

AFAIK, they’re cheap, mass-produced trash for people who confuse pop culture references with personality/taste.

I read any mentionof them being enjoyed as sarcastic. Might be out of the loop, though.

So nice paintings on your wall to look at are also bullshit? Does literally everything need to have a functional purpose or is it okay for humans to just, I dunno, enjoy seeing something?

Nice paintings on my wall aren’t literally a mass-produced template with no artistic merit more than “I remember this IP!”

Funko-pops are a simulacrum of art. The asymptotic endpoint of capitalistic commodification.

Ah, you’re one of these “industrial complex” types that wants to use big words to scream about massive societal schemes against us which you won’t ever be able to do anything about but which yiu DEMAND others exhaust energy on worrying about as well.

Well, enjoy your time on your self-made pedestal smelling your own farts. Wish you the best up there.

Everything society does is great and just and climate change isn’t real and waste is not a problem and consolidation of all culture by the Disney corporation is good catually. 👌 /s
