Is it safe for minorities? PoC and LGBTQ?

Stick to major metro areas. Orlando on south. Once you get away from the beaches and tourist areas, it’s farms and swamps and small towns. If you’re paranoid come down to South Florida, we have a huge gay population, gay beaches, etc. My (gay male couple) neighbors are always out doing something, flags in tow.

As far as minorities / POC, shit … that’s half of everyone. You’ll have to go looking for trouble or be stupid or unaware and stumble into a less reputable area to get into trouble.

However do plan on having your car broken into.

Trans folks fall under Minorities, sorry I didn’t’t call them out by name. I can say that most people in SF don’t care. Oh sure you’ll hear someone’s old grandmother from the old country mutter something in a foreign language every blue moon, but in practice no one cares.

We have a lot of people from a lot of places that are less tolerant.

If you can drive like a fucking asshole, take 10x too long at the self checkout, and speak 5 Spanish phrases, no one will have any idea you’re from someplace else.

[edit] I’ll also add we have the nicest nude beach in all of Florida , and it is open and friendly to all and takes absolutely nothing to start a party. Just adjust to the fact that about 10% of the people will be ‘Baywatchy’, the rest are just folks, folks who may not work out, but surprisingly do an awful lot of personal grooming.

Well my Trans friend moved down there and has been happy for 5 years, so I don’t know I’ll ask them for you.
