they don’t just hammer out a first draft and send that to their editor without reading it

Man, I wish you were right. I find German books are particularly bad, where not even the editor will care to find the obvious spelling and grammar mistakes.

  Fair, I guess I should say authors with some self-respect will proofread their own work lol
