Lately I have been getting system notifications with no X on them to dismiss them. They are not going away on their own, I cannot move them. The only way that I have found to get rid of them is to restart my MacBook and then the dismissal X appears.

Does anyone know how to dismiss these without the reboot? (it is making me feel like I am using a windows computer again) I have all updates installed (Sonoma 14.5 (23F79)) and it is a MacBook Pro M2 Max 2023.

If you open Notification Center, is it listed there with an X? Hover your pointer over the notification if you don’t see the X at first.

    https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/get-notifications-mchl2fb1258f/mac

You might also try right-clicking on the notification. Or try holding down the option key and hovering the pointer over it. You shouldn’t have to do that, but figure it’s worth a try to see what happens.

Also, to save yourself some time and trouble, try logging out and logging back in instead of restarting (if you haven’t tried that already).

When I woke out from sleep to try, it was gone. Will try next time.

As far as right clicking, I was unable to interact with it at all. I tried right clicking, dragging it, mousing over it (usually this brings up the X and a little option to snooze it)
