I think the fact he’s moderate, combined with the fact he’s an astronaut, could really boost the ticket.
So strategically, I agree he’s a good pick. The only thing is I haven’t heard him speak so I don’t know how charismatic he is.
I used to think Josh Shapiro was the best choice to win because he is the Governor of Pennsylvania, but news just resurfaced about how his office had to settle a sexual harassment claim brought forth by one of his top aides last year.
Given that Harris is going to rightly make women’s rights a central part of her campaign, and given she is going to rightly paint Donald Trump as the sexual predator he is, I think this means putting Shapiro on the ticket could undermine that messaging.
Andrew Beshear is another option - the fact he is a two-term Democratic governor in god damn Kentucky of all places means he needs to have some sort of broad appeal.
I do think Andrew Beshear is a great option. I think we should be focusing on promoting our younger generations instead of just pushing the people who’ve put in the most time because they “earned it”
Beshear has really impressed me with his media appearances this week. He has a folksy charm while not pulling any punches. I think he’d be my preference, but Kelly also seems like a decent choice.
