Okay, sure, there’s definitely American exceptionalism. But freedom? Most of American freedoms had to be fought over and are relatively recent. Woman’s rights and gender rights have declined recently, so please, keep striving for that exceptional ideal.

People having basic human rights isn’t what I’d call ‘exceptional’, especially when many places already do far better.
