Former President Donald Trump urged members of a crowd in Florida to vote and said that if he wins, they “won’t have to vote anymore.”

Speaking at a Turning Point Action event in West Palm Beach on Friday, Trump, who tried to overturn the 2020 election he lost, delivered a cryptic message.

“And again, Christians, get out and vote!” he said to a cheering audience. “Just this time. You won’t have to do it anymore. Four more years. You know what? It’ll be fixed! It’ll be fine! You won’t have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians. I love you, Christians! I’m a Christian. I love you. Get out. You gotta get out and vote. In four years, you don’t have to vote again.”

When I tag people in certain ways, I often try to ignore that context and give them another chance at a normal human conversation. It is uncanny how often they randomly prove again that yes they are exactly in fact how I originally judged them. That other time was not a one off or a bad day they were having.

I could have been more kind, but you responded sarcastically when I pointed out that what I was talking about had just happened, basically trying to shift blame from yourself instead of just apologizing or admitting that I might have a point. You even kind of implied that because I remember the context, I don’t have a life because your life distracts you from remembering what happens from post to post.

If this is how you typically treat people you’re giving a second chance, it’s no surprise that they respond in kind.

What a fucking victim. None of this is in touch with what I said or meant. There wasn’t sarcasm, I implied nothing about you other than you might be a stickler to expect me to scroll up and click several buttons to confirm I’m on the same page every time someone responds to tell me I’m wrong.

Also I have plenty of positive interactions, sometimes even with people who previously weren’t nice. It’s just unfortunately memorable when people are such dicks.

Exactly, you’re trying to shift the blame away from yourself; it’s my fault for being a stickler, not yours for not even bothering to make sure your point was disproved already in the short thread we’re in.

Look, I don’t blame you for me responding in kind. That’s my own doing and I know I should be better about it. But you’re projecting the victim mentality: you’re blaming me for pointing out that my point had been made. You’re making this whole negative interaction my fault for being a dick.

The reason I’m having issues with you every time is on display in this response. For you it’s obvious there has to be blame and it needs to be assigned. I never had thought that way up until you were rude. I was simply explaining why I didn’t understand what you meant. In your mind that meant I was out to get you and blame you. Man, that is a sad way to live honestly

My man, you were the dick first, not me. Well, I guess I was a dick to the general treatment of America Lemmy, but when you challenged that I responded respectfully making my case.

After saying you would agree with me if you saw it happening, I pointed it out happening right here. Did you agree? No, you just shifted blame, implying it’s wrong to expect you to remember what we were talking about from post to post, even admitting latter that you meant this made me a stickler.

Again, I reiterate my point: if this is you giving people a second chance, it’s little surprise that they often live up to your expectations.

I admitted that you could indeed think that was implied. Not that I meant that. In any case I’ve failed to see a single charitable reading of anything I have said. Everything is clearly a blame game, because that is how you operate. You think because you admitted to being unkind that you’re morally superior. I do not agree. This has been “fun”
