That’s the way 4chan has always been. I stopped using it 20 years ago after seeing a gif of a German shepherd getting hit in the face with a shovel.
They don’t track down these people because they love animals, they do it to ruin someone’s life (for the lulz). It just so happens that in this cases like these ruining someone’s life is beneficial to society.

4Chan is a mixed bag and rarely ever good, but they’ve absolutely fucked over scum who abuse animals like this multiple times in the past.

4chan has a history of hunting down animal abusers.
Nooooo, 4chan has a serious soft-spot for animals. They will absolutely find you and ruin your life if they think you’re abusing them.
4chan isn’t really a monolith.
Sure, they’ll do the “we are anonymous” thing and track someone down, but they’ll also share videos of animal torture for entertainment.
