Bigots are bigots for a reason, but what irks me more about this issue is that once they are proven wrong they just double down instead of admitting that they were mistaken. Not trying to excuse their transphobia, but after the initial dumb outrage they could’ve just moved on quietly after learning that she was born a female and I would’ve just thought of them as usual dumb-asshole-bigots, but noooooo, they just have to lower the bar even more.
Because the whole point is that they’re right and the world is wrong, and they’re going to take over and make it be right. Admitting a mistake would invalidate the project. Folding Ideas flat earth piece is a great window into the mindset.
