It’s one of a couple design changes I completely rejected lemmy-ui’s version of. Why on earth is it on a commonly used menu? I feel like it makes so much more sense to put it on the community settings page.
I was actually accidentily made an admin at first on my instance due to how easy it is to misclick when making someone a mod with the standard menu. Your design is leagues better.
If your instance has the Photon UI as an option, It’s possible to add and remove mods without an existing post in the community through the team menu.
You can also do it through p.lemmy.world as well.
